Guide before you learn driving

Focus on your driving lesson

Although it may seem overwhelming, you will soon be learning your first driving lesson. Driving on the roads requires that you be careful, attentive, and safe.

Your driving lessons should focus on listening to your instructor, and then doing the things they ask. Your instructor will show you how to take each step one at a time. They won’t push you to do things you don’t know how or aren’t comfortable with.

After you adjust to driving in a carpark, or backstreet, it won’t be difficult. You’ll soon become more adept at managing all these elements. After you learn how to prioritize your attention and have some support from your driving instructor, it may be easier than you thought.

Relax, the first driving lesson isn’t a driving examination

A driving instructor will not expect a student to be able to drive in traffic for the first time. Depending on which driving instructor you choose, you might only learn the basics of the car. You may not be able to drive in traffic.

Many driving instructors will treat your first lesson like your introduction to the driving sport. They will instruct you on how to get familiar with their vehicle (especially if it’s not obvious where it is). Then, they will take you out to practice driving in a quiet parking lot or backstreets.

Be open to failure. carefully listen to your guider and learn from them.

Ask questions to your driving instructor

You are not permitted to know all the details. You don’t have to be an expert on everything. Your instructor will expect you to be confused and nervous. They may also expect you to have lots of questions regarding your lesson.

If you don’t know something, ask. Your driving instructor will teach you how to drive safely and confidently. It is important to make the most out of the time you spend with your driving instructor to learn all you can.
